Ciena Corporation Company Overview

Ciena Corporation (NYSE: CIEN) is a networking equipment and software company headquartered in Hanover, Maryland. It builds optical transport systems and WaveLogic coherent optics that carry data between data centres and across long-haul, metro and submarine networks, which hyperscalers and cloud providers use to link AI clusters. Ciena also sells routing and automation software and launched a $200 million Ciena Ventures fund for AI-era networking start-ups. It had 9,080 employees at November 1, 2025.
